In Las Rozas (Madrid), a new initiative is exploring how artificial intelligence (AI) can help more people take part in public life, especially those who often face greater communication barriers, such as older adults, migrants, and people with disabilities.
Through a pilot developed within the European project iDEM, and with the support of Plena Inclusión Madrid, AI-based tools are being tested to make public information more accessible. These tools help simplify complex content, translate information, and adapt materials into more inclusive formats, making it easier for people to understand issues and share their opinions.
Early results suggest that these solutions can reduce linguistic and cognitive barriers, increase autonomy in accessing public information, and foster more meaningful and inclusive participation in consultations, debates, and surveys.
